Magens Bay

Rated one of the top 10 beaches in the world by National Geographic; good overnight anchorage.

Magens Bay

Magens Bay is a large park managed by the Magens Bay Authority. When arriving by car, there is a modest park fee to which yachtsmen are not subject.

Bar services in the water

Bar service for drinks extends into the water
at Magens Bay.

On weekends, the long white sand beachfront is alive with music and families enjoying a day at the beach. The facilities at Magen’s Bay include bathhouses with showers, a bar, a snack bar and rental shop for kayaks and other water toys. Waitresses from the bar, dressed in bikinis, take drink orders along the beach and deliver them in up to waist deep clear, Caribbean water. A local tradition on the beach is Udder Delight serving ice cream, fruit flavored shakes, and a special milkshake made with a splash of Cruzan rum to brighten up the day.

Magens Bay beach

The beach also is a favorite of cruise ship guests brought over by bus and is sometimes quite crowded. Luckily, most of the crowds favor the center and east end of the beach while the area in front of anchorage may not have many people at all.
