The Caves

Just outside The Bight, south of Treasure Point, are the famous caves.

The Caves

To best explore The Caves, dinghy over from The Bight or arrive early to pick up one of the few red National Park Trust Mooring Balls. If they are occupied, anchorage is available in Privateer Bay several hundred yards to the southwest. There is a dinghy mooring just outside the caves marked with two blue mooring balls carrying a line in between.

Do not use an outboard motor inside of the dinghy line as there are many swimmers and snorkelers in the water.

Little yellow and black striped Sergeant-major fish (Abudefduf saxatilis) abound in this area and have become accustomed to being fed by snorkelers. They are partial to frozen peas but the National Park Trust discourages feeding the fish, as they are becoming a bit aggressive.
